Dalmally Agricultural Show is our last main summer outdoor event of the season, every first Saturday in September and it's definitely one of the best.   Here is the report from the Show facebook page for 2026. You don't want to miss 2027 .. book now for a great weeks stay. Now that we have all recovered from this year's show we've had time to pull together a little round up. We had our doubts going into the weekend about the weather and if we would even be able to go head with the day at all but despite the downpours on the Friday our committee worked tirelessly to get everything up and running and on the Saturday we were blessed with a fine day and the sun even made an appearance too🌞 🐎The horses were very successful in their inaugural year with 29 entries, we received numerous messages aftwerwards from competitors saying how much they enjoyed their day. The champion was Alison Bowman with Hufflepuffle of Park View and reserve champion was Fiona Shaw with Ruadh Ramsey. 🐏🐂There was a large entry in the livestock categories this year and some very high quality stock on show. We had 200 entries in the sheep classes. In the cattle classes this year there were 65 entries. Taking home the overall cattle champion this year was a Highlander from Balrownie Farm, Brechin and taking home the overall sheep champion was a Blackface ewe from Lurgan farm, Aberfeldy. Kicking of the events down on the field were the children's races which have been such a hit since being introduced a few years ago. There was a strong turnout of 10 teams for this year's under 12's Shinty and what a fantastic tournament it was with great commitment and skill shown by all who took part. The final tie was a thriller between St Columba's and Rockfield with St Columba's securing the win for the second year on the bounce. We look forward to welcoming back all the teams next year to do it all again. 🎪Entires in the main tent we're brilliant as ever with a fine show of veg, baking, preserves and handcrafts. The crooks and sticks were incredible woth around 100 entries - we have exhibitors coming from far and wide to show their work and for that we are so grateful. There were over 130 entries in the photography section this year, it just seems to grow in popularity year on year📷   Our Farmyard tent was as ever popular for all, there were 3 day old chicks to hold and a range of different chickens. Friends of the show kindly brought in a calf and various breeds of sheep.

🚒The local fire brigade were back again with their new engine which always proves to be a hit! This year we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the Taynuilt Youth Pipe Band who put on a fantastic performance. It was great to welcome back the classic car club again and in addition we also had a fantastic display of vintage tractors, the parade around the ring was quite a sight as was the tractor balancing and obstacle challenge🚜!

🐕‍🦺The dog show once again had a very large entry with some beautiful dogs on display, the terrier race as always was keenly contested and is always a great watch. It's a Knock-Out returned for 2026. The event was once again full of the unexpected thrills and spills, teams were very evenly matched again this year, all teams and helpers entered into the spirit of the event and was very much enjoyed by thr crowd. This year's tables toppers by just one point in it were the Dalmally Fire Brigade closely followed by Glengarry Shinty Club. The one point seperating them was the bonus point for the Santa dash! 🎶The day was brought to it's end by the Calamity Crofters giving us a fantastic performance from D & J Campbells curtain side trailer. We are ever so grateful to the food vendors, crafters and traders who come year after year and really help to make the day great! The show would not be possible without our great committee that we have, the volunteers who help out on show day and of course our generous sponsors across the show. And last but by no means least everyone who attends and exhitibits on the day to make future shows possible. Thanks again to everyone and we look forward to seeing you all again next year.🌟
