We really enjoyed our stay at Kintaline House. The house was wonderfully spacious, appealingly designed, impeccably clean, and fitted out to the highest standard, especially the kitchen. It was tastefully decorated and full of the owner’s family’s books and objects d’art.
We were there in August so didn’t need to use the heating much, but the heating system was fully available and working when needed for our elderly parents, and there was plenty of hot water for washing, using a number of environmentally-friendly systems. There was a proactive approach to good environmental practise and recycling. The owner was friendly and helpful throughout our visit and tactfully allowed us to have our own privacy. Outside, the secluded garden was equally impressive with corners for quiet sitting to admire the restrained plantings or bird feeders; and a larger lawn area with table and chairs and barbecue equipment. There was no farming, commercial, or hospitality noise during the day or night, just light traffic on a nearby minor road, so there was always a peaceful and calm atmosphere. By the end of the week, we felt it had been a privilege to experience Kinatline House and use it as a base to explore the beautiful and fascinating surrounding region.Date of stay: August 2022
