If you are researching your family tree, looking for ancestors in the Oban and North Argyll area and struggling to understand the geography of the past to the present day, the best site to explore is the National Library of Scotland maps site.
Here you can travel back through Time comparing modern day base layers with the likes of the first Ordnance Survey map of 1871, or the Roy map of 1750s. For some parts of the area the Pont / Blaeu map is remarkably detailed for one created in the mid 1600s.
